What Happens in Europe, Happens in Vegas: What the Experts Are Saying About DELIVER Americas 2023

A novelist once wrote that it “looks the way you'd imagine heaven must look at night.” Dean Martin sang of his love for the city that possessed his “favourite atmosphere.” But we won’t be visiting magical Las Vegas just for the space-age glitter and neon. On 27+28 September 2023, DELIVER Americas launches its inaugural edition at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, bringing the success and splendour of the DELIVER Europe format to a brand new frontier and the bravest of new worlds.

An unmissable event that’s grown year on year in Europe, across seven editions, has become the premier global community for e-commerce and logistics. And we’re now primed and ready to hit the USA. Over 1,000 leading e-commerce professionals and logistics leaders will be connecting in-person in Las Vegas through our unique hosted buyer platform, and sharing insights on the key challenges and exciting opportunities of our industry in a packed itinerary of blue-chip content sessions. The Experts Are Energised

At DELIVER Europe 2022 in Amsterdam this June, we took the opportunity to talk to a range of executives from the USA to hear their thoughts on why DELIVER Americas will be such a warp-speed gamechanger for the e-commerce and logistics industry stateside. As we learned from retail returns expert Tony Sciarrotta, Executive Director at the Reverse Logistics Association, the US market has some planet-sized pain points ready to be tackled by our industry’s brightest stars. The DELIVER experience brings the finest thought leaders and innovative entrepreneurs together under one roof, ready and able to solve the mission-critical challenges we outlined in our recent DELIVER Insights report, e-Commerce & Logistics: The Evolving Journey

A Brave New Business World

Neil Ffrench, Director of International Business Development at global shipping and mailing company Pitney Bowes, says that DELIVER’s blend of attendees is perfect for exploring lucrative new business opportunities in a rapidly expanding market. “You have e-commerce players in different parts of the value chain, and you have logistics providers as well,” he says. “Merge those with retailers and brands. Put that into the huge market that is the US, both for domestic and cross-border international business. E-commerce is booming with the advent of COVID ($815.4 billion in the US in 2020). The dollar is strong versus many of the major currencies, including sterling, so it's a really good opportunity for US consumers to buy international brands.”

A Quality Organisation

“The DELIVER event has been really well organised,” says Amit Sharma, Founder and CEO of post-purchase platform Narvar. “And it's not just the number of participants both from the tech community, from retail, and from the supply chain. The quality of attendees has been really good. And I believe this will be well received in the US, because of the way the organisation has conducted the event here.” And given that US business travellers see developing relationships as the most important aspect of their business trips, we know we’re galaxies ahead of the competition when it comes to delivering connections.

A Formidable Focus

According to Chad Schofield, Chief Digital Officer of logistics management platform BoxC, the event’s focus both logistics and e-commerce is an irresistible attraction. “In America, e-commerce shows are just not focused on the shipping and logistics solutions that e-commerce needs,” he says. “And on the other side, most logistics and shipping shows are very narrow. So DELIVER is a unique show that’s very well done, and very professional.”

In the US market in 2021, inventory-carrying costs rose by 25.9% and transportation costs by 21.7%, so it’s never been more important to bring e-commerce executives and logistics vendor together to ensure their shared business interests can live long  – and prosper.

New Segments, New Worlds

Justin Miller, VP of Sales at last mile delivery solution Onfleet, agrees that DELIVER’s diversity is one of its greatest strengths. “The unique makeup of the attendees here, across a number of different segments, will translate well to the United States,” he says. “Particularly the care, attention and service level that was provided is really unique. And I think that will actually be a delightful change in the US.” Over one in four Americans say that a lack of effectiveness is their primary customer service frustration, so we know our attention to detail will take us above and beyond attendee expectations at DELIVER Americas next year.
