eCommerce volumes continue to grow, urban warehouse space is increasingly constrained, and the conveyor-based systems most fulfillment centers rely on were not designed for either challenge. These systems perform well under steady demand, but struggle when volumes fluctuate, and reconfiguring them typically requires weeks of downtime and significant capital investment.

In this session, Unbox Robotics will share a different approach: moving sortation off the floor and into the vertical space above it, using mobile robots coordinated by software rather than fixed infrastructure.
