How Maersk is building AI into its ecommerce logistics proposition

Stein van Est, Global Head of Ecommerce, Maersk

For Stein van Est, Global Head of Ecommerce at Maersk, DELIVER Europe is a key annual moment to connect with customers and understand what the market needs next.

Speaking at DELIVER Europe 2026, Stein explained that while Maersk is widely recognised as a global shipping company, the business is also increasingly active in ecommerce logistics. Across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific, Maersk supports ecommerce customers with logistics services, including parcel operations and wider supply chain capabilities.

At DELIVER Europe 2026, Maersk used the event to meet customers, share new propositions and listen to what retailers and brands are looking for. Stein highlighted that the team held more than 120 customer meetings across the event, making it a valuable moment for building pipeline and gathering direct market feedback.

Stein also reflected on Maersk’s keynote session, which focused on how AI is being built into the core of the company’s ecommerce product development. Rather than treating AI as a buzzword, Maersk is applying it to areas such as network design, parcel routing and pricing, creating a more data-led foundation for its ecommerce logistics services.

The event was also a moment of recognition for Maersk, which won the Brand Excellence Award. For Stein, the award was especially meaningful because it reflected audience recognition. It showed that Maersk is not only known as a shipping company, but is increasingly being recognised as a brand in ecommerce logistics.

For Maersk, DELIVER Europe continues to be a pivotal point in the year: a place to meet customers, test market resonance, build commercial momentum and strengthen its position in the ecommerce logistics market.
